Upcoming events

Just a reminder that field trip forms need to be in by Friday for the COP trip on February 9 2015 so that the event organizer can have all the necessary information two weeks in advanced as required.

Report cards will be going home Friday.  Just a reminder the new report card will follow a 1-4 scale versus the previous 1-5 scale.  Please emphasize the comments with your child as being the most important part of feedback on their learning.

Parent teacher interview can be booked beginning Monday on conference manager.  A letter with details will be sent home to parents.

First week back

The grade 4 students are already back to working hard after their holidays.  In Science, we are starting a new unit on simple machines.  They kicked off the unit by experimenting with building a simple machine that would decrease the work load of getting their text book from one end of their desk to the other.

Here are a few of their creations:

The students have also been working on growing and repeating patterns in math and discovering the equations that fits with these patterns.
