Science
The students have had a lot of fun building their balloon cars and adjusting their designs to be more effective.
Tuesday, 7 April 2015
This week:
The students are building balloon cars for the Science unit building devices and vehicles that move. We have purchased some supplies for them (sponges, plasticine, skewers, straws and balloons). If they need anything else for their device they can bring it in tomorrow as they are beginning to build.
Video on building balloon cars. On April 15th the students are going to Telus Spark. They received theirfield trip forms today. Please return the form and money as soon as possible. Today was the first day of experimenting with a trash less lunch. If the students had garbage in their lunch they were asked to pack it home. We will continue this for every Tuesday in April.

Green Kids!
Part of our Science curriculum discusses waste in our world and what we can do to help the environment. We had Green Calgary come in and teach us about landfills back in the fall.
They offer a kids drop in on April 11 2015 with fun activities extending this learning. Visit Green Calgary website for more information.

Trash less Tuesdays
To help support our caretakers and think about the environment we are moving to a trash free lunch on Tuesdays for the month of April. Students are asked to bring little to no garbage in their lunches on Tuesday and any garbage will be brought home with the students in their lunch boxes. Thank you for supporting this initiative!
