Students will be coming home today with a spelling level check as well as some instructions for further practice. From time to time throughout the year, students will be given a spelling check with words ranging from grade one level to grade twelve level. For roughly every five words spelled correctly, the student is given a spelling grade level. In grade four students should be spelling twenty to thirty words correctly.
Grade Fours have been learning different ways to work on their spelling and parents will begin seeing Word Work in student agendas for daily practice. Work Work option include but are not limited to activities such as creating crossword puzzles, games on
spellingcity.com, playing Scrabble or Bananagrams, keeping a journal, fun
quizzes, Spelling Catch, Spelling Jump or writing stories.
