Elaborative Detail

Grade four students have been learning to add elaborative detail to their writing. Students have been building their skills by learning to identify the story critical characters, items and setting. Once they have identified the critical elements of the story, they build the details into their writing so their reader is able to visualize as they read. Have a look at the examples below as well as the questions to think about when building detail.
